Are you a seasoned property and facilities management professional looking to make a real impact on the UK's energy future?

Great British Nuclear (GBN) is a new government body leading the charge in delivering secure and sustainable nuclear energy for Britain. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Land, Property and FM to join our team and play a pivotal role in establishing and managing our property portfolio.

In this key position, you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive property and facilities management strategy aligned with GBN's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all aspects of land, property, and facilities management, including maintenance operations, space allocation, and lease administration.
  • Lead the acquisition of land for future nuclear sites and manage it until development or transfer.
  • Manage the property portfolio, optimizing space utilization and identifying opportunities for acquisitions or disposals.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, functionality, security, and safety of all facilities.
  • Manage property-related risks, including building safety, infrastructure failures, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to optimise property and facilities performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage a team of property and facilities management professionals.
  • Represent GBN at industry conferences and meetings.

To be successful, you will possess:

  • Proven track record in property and facilities management, ideally in a complex or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in property management principles, facilities maintenance practices, and tenant management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of property management principles, including budgeting, leasing, regulations, and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of facilities maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry regulations and a willingness to learn nuclear industry requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable building practices.
  • Proficiency in property and facilities management software.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field (or demonstrably equivalent experience) is preferred.
