Heritage PS Talent Solutions are thrilled to be working in partnership with an award winning and well established engineering business in Birmingham, West Midlands to recruit for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team to support their growth plan and journey.
The ideal candidate will come from an engineering background and have knowledge in sheet metal, tube bending and fabrication. You will also have experience selling into business's across the UK and exceptional market knowledge.
Main duties of the BDM role:
Cultivate and sustain a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Generate new business prospects through a combination of research, cold calling, and relationship building.
Present confident, well-researched, and personalised sales presentations.
Price and quote innovatively and flexibly to ensure customer growth and profitability.
Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and target potential markets.
Monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities and potential challenges.
Maintain detailed records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
Work closely with the product development team to align sales strategies with product offerings.
Provide regular feedback and insights to senior management on market conditions and sales performance.
Ensure consistent follow-up with prospects and clients to nurture relationships and close deals.Requirements of the BDM role:
Verified experience within the engineering industry
Ideally sheet metal, tube sales or related industry experience.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Proven track record in driving revenue growth, increasing profit margins, and fostering strong customer relationships.
Results-focused attitude, committed to achieving business goals and delivering value and profit to the organisation.
Strong sales expertise, motivated by lead sourcing to secure new business.
Experience in business development or client-facing operational roles.
Must have a strong desire to succeed.
Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities.
Proactive and driven approach.
