We are looking for an experienced kitchen / catering supervisor to join our campus outlet Social Kitchen. It's an outlet offering students refreshments and an excellent variety of food.


You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the food, maintaining the high standards of quality in the kitchen.

In the absence of the kitchen manager, you will supervise the student staff kitchen assistants and ensure the kitchen adheres to the health & safety guidelines and maintaining stock levels and stock quality.


You'll be joining a small but effective team and the requirement to be reliable and a willingness to help each other is essential.

Whilst your primary role is in the kitchen all BCUSU staff play a role in student engagement and participating in delivering the wider mission and vision of the Students' Union is essential.

BCUSU is a positive employer, with strong staff engagement, supportive working environment and enhanced employee benefits.
- *there are occasional weekends or rare bank holidays, when there are special functions, but they are the exception rather than the norm and time off in lieu will be offered if working a weekend/bank holiday day. We are closed at Christmas_.

Principle purpose of job:

To supervise the outlet particularly in the absence of the Social Kitchen Manager

To deliver exceptional working and customer service

To assist in training and supporting the Social Kitchen Catering Assistants

How to Apply

1.
To supervise the running of the outlet, particularly in the absence of the Social Kitchen Manager
To follow all opening and closing procedures and be responsible for ensuring the outlet is operated at the required standard

To ensure that all monies and stock are protected

Deal with all customer and staff enquiries and issues, ensuring that these are reported to the appropriate manager

To carry out all the appropriate tasks relating to the area of operation

Ensure that all financial procedures are being followed and that any issues are reported immediately to the finance department

To ensure ALL Health & Safety procedures are followed to ensure the safety of customers, fellow staff and your self

To be punctual, presentable and in correct uniform for every shift

To work in an efficient, timely and well organised manner

To consistently produce excellent food and drink for our customers

To always greet customers in a friendly and informative manner

Signpost customers to other services and facilities on the relevant campus

To be fully knowledgeable on all the products we sell

To assist in instructing and Supporting the Bar/Catering Assistant Team
To communicate & instruct effectively with the Assistant staff to ensure all tasks are carried out

To Supervise the Assistant staff in the outlet

To assist with the training of and continual monitoring of the Assistant staff

To ensure that all instructions left by the outlet manager have been dealt with

To always lead by example

4. General Duties
