This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior People Systems Administrator to join our People Systems team as we prepare to replace our HR and Payroll system.

The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors.

We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We are seeking a technical support professional, whose role will be to provide high level remote technical liaison, end user support and system administration to our customers.

You will be required to action requests and troubleshoot incidents, and where required, liaise with third party support to ensure timely resolution.

You will work as part of a team, to deliver a programme of system improvements and enhancements in conjunction with the People Systems Product Manager.

The role will require you to work closely with other IS teams and our People and Payroll teams, where strong communication skills both verbal and written are key.

This is a hybrid role between home working and office working, you'll work 1 day a week in the Manchester office, or more if you prefer.

We may ask you to attend the office on additional days where necessary, for example team meetings.

Please note, if you are successful, you will be required to attend the office every day during your first week of work whilst your induction is completed.

In return, you'll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people.

Within our friendly environment, you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities designed to support your ongoing progression.

You'll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.

The GMC has committed to the Disability Confident employer scheme and supports the requirements of the Disability Confident interview scheme.

If you have a disability and meet the cut-off mark for the essential criteria for this role as outlined in the person specification document, you will be offered an interview.

We strongly believe that diversity of background and experience contributes to a broader collective perspective, that will consistently lead to us being a better regulator.

We are working hard to increase the diversity of our staff, and also the diversity of those we work with wherever we can and we would actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.

The GMC is happy to support a range of flexible working options. Flexible working requests will be considered in line with the policy.
