Applications are open for a Band 3 Administration Officer position at Benton House based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Join our administration team to provide high-quality support to the multi-disciplinary clinical team.
Main duties of the job:
- Experience in a customer/patient-focused environment
- Administration/Secretarial experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fast, accurate typing/keyboard skills
- Experience of typing and formatting letters and reports
- Minute-taking experience
- Diary Management
- A good understanding of inputting data to a database system
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Office packages
- Ability to be self-directed, motivated and contribute positively within a team
- Well-organized and structured
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet service needs
- Ability to handle highly distressing or emotional circumstances
- Hold required qualifications as per the Essential Criteria

Education and Qualification:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 or QCF Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent)
- Audio Typing qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
- General level of education to O-Level/GCSE or equivalent
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in Customer Care (or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Knowledge of NHS Policies and Procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Ability to maintain and update Patient Information Systems
- Good working knowledge of office procedures
- Previous secretarial/clerical experience
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Prioritization and planning skills
Desirable:
- Experience in processing documentation
- Experience using stock ordering systems
- Experience with medical records filing systems
