We are looking to appoint a high-calibre leader for our RP department. As a faith school, the teaching of Religion and Philosophy is hugely important for us and our learners, and all students take the full GCSE at the end of Key Stage 4. As a dynamic Head of RP, you will enthuse students through the provision of high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging all students to develop their potential to the full. The successful candidate will be a leader who is passionate about all aspects of RP with a drive to make a difference and maintain our high standards in the department.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be an outstanding practitioner and be on the way to becoming an inspirational leader;
• Have a proven track record of success in raising student attainment;
• Have the ability to develop a love of RP in order to maintain high standards;
• Be a committed team-player, ideally with experience of having led and managed successful teams;
• Fully understand the RP curriculum and local SACRE requirements and have the vision required to raise standards further.
Students at St Andrew appreciate being taught well and enjoy their learning. They expect high standards and enjoy being challenged and stretched in the classroom. Our GCSE results last year were strong with whole school P8 of Our RP results feed into this success and they will demonstrate the strength of knowledge and skills taught as we prepare for our Section 48 inspection.
We are committed to appointing a candidate who will fit well with our staff body and one who will promote the whole school ethos. The candidate must be an excellent classroom practitioner and be able to demonstrate that s/he can play a leadership role across the school.
