Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Homes England Full time

The Markets, Partners and Place (MPP) Directorate leads Homes England's delivery of major projects in priority places alongside development of new opportunities and projects.

Our priorities include Garden Settlements and projects that achieve Transformative Urban Regeneration throughout England.

The Directorate also leads our response to devolution and the establishment of long-term partnerships with Combined Authorities via our Strategic Place Partnership (SPP) model already in-place with Greater Manchester and now being rolled out across other Combined Authority areas.

The launch of the Strategic Plan, implementation of the Blueprint announcement of the Brownfield Land and Infrastructure (BIL) fund, and emergence of devolution throughout England all represent opportunities to make a real log-term difference to our communities and we want the best people possible to be part of that change.

The role will be covering our the South West (covering Devon, Cornwall and Somerset) region, working with partners in that patch ensuring that priority projects with those partners get delivered.

You will be a part of a team that has responsibility for delivering some of the Agencies most important and ambitious development and infrastructure projects that achieve transformative regeneration as well as housing growth.

The South West Regional office is in Bristol but a flexible home working arrangement could be possible for the right candidate.

We are focussed on unlocking thousands of homes across the region in sustainable, well-designed communities. We do this by supporting the coordination and delivery of complex, large-scale regeneration projects. We work collaboratively with local authorities, central Government and leading private sector partners.

This is an exciting role providing the opportunity to participate in the regions most transformational regeneration projects and work in partnership to meet the demands and challenges of a unique part of the country.

In line with our place-based working practices, we focus on specific locations in the South West where regeneration and housing delivery is most needed to address acute social challenges, including deprivation and housing supply shortages.

Our mission is to accelerate the delivery of high-quality homes in these locations, whilst also supporting economic growth through regeneration.

You will be part of a friendly team that ensures regeneration and housing growth delivery occurs in our priority places by working with internal and external stakeholders.

This means developing projects that meet both the ambitions of partners and our new Strategic Plan but also develop business case propositions to draw-down available capital funds in an innovative and problem-solving way.

Your role is to ensure that projects happen.

  • You will help develop and deepen relationships with local partners in priority housing markets and act as a conduit between Homes England and our key partners, influencing key decisions and leveraging relationships to generate new business.
  • You will lead or support multidisciplinary teams, drawing on skills and expertise form across the agency to drive progress in complex, long term regeneration and housing growth projects and enable delivery in priority locations.
  • You will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of change to deliver our new operating approach and to work in a more place based and impactful way.
  • You will support the Regional Director in the embedding of the new Regional Forums acting as a route by which colleagues from across the Agency can help drive improved pipeline development, programme performance and place-based impact by bringing the whole Agency to our delivery challenge.
  • You will interface with the National Regeneration, Partnerships and Major Projects team to develop best practice in what we do and to achieve consistency throughout the Country.
  • Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an agency.
  • You will understand the importance of creating and maintaining strong relationships across the sector, including developers, investors, local and central government agencies.
