Severn Trent Green Power (STGP) is the largest producer of renewable energy from food waste in England and Wales, we are a subsidiary of the FTSE listed company Severn Trent and operate nationally.

We have Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities, and five composting sites that collectively recycle over 1⁄2 million tonnes of organic waste each year. In addition, we own a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets including Solar parks, six wind turbines, and three hydro-electric turbines.

Coupled with the energy we generate from our AD facilities; we produce enough renewable energy to power , homes.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Transport Operations Manager you'll sit as part of our operation's senior management team and your role is to support, maintain and continuously improve the company's Transport Division to deliver a "best in class" transport solution for the Green Power portfolio.

Based out of Radford in Oxfordshire, you'll lead a team of c people and manage a fleet of trucks, which should be in operation at least % of the time with no wasted or unloaded journeys. You will regularly travel across our portfolio of sites to ensure the management and compliance of the transport team as well as associated lagoons and registered O-licence premises.

Additionally, you'll work closely with the Operations Director, reporting recording, updating and report production. You'll also be responsible for overall budget management and work with external parties to manage Digestate/Compost recycling across the Green Power portfolio.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

Maintenance of vehicles and any associated records required under applicable legislation or regulation – Scheduled maintenance, Pro-active and preventative maintenance, Re-active maintenance and general improvements and development. Ensure operations are economically viable by increasing effectiveness and controlling costs, effective planning of haulage to increase productivity and management of the rd party digestate contracts.
Management of inter-company bulk waste and transport of plant and machinery between sites, liaise with internal departments and third-party hauliers.
Administration of haulage operations within the CPC requirements as directed by the Operations Director. Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and appropriately always maintained.
Operate a safe, fair and compliant working environment for all and effective and fair management of contractors, sub-contractors.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

To do this role at its best you'll have experience of managing a similar transport operation, coordinating haulage operations and repair schedules. You'll also have the ability to work under pressure, maximise the daily transport operations to ensure trucks run profitably, take the initiative, have a hands on can do attitude and take ownership to get the job done.

Additionally, you'll also have excellent knowledge of transport legislation and safe working practices, be CPC qualified, and have held and managed (or be immediately available to) an operator's licence.

As travelling is required, you'll also have to hold a full driving license.
