Job Summary

The Transport Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient transport services for Sobell House and Katharine House Hospices. This position requires a high level of organization, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Line manage the employed transport team and volunteer drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient transport requests, staff and volunteer activity, and produce reports as required by the service Lead and Manager.
  • Develop and implement training programs for volunteers and staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in transport-related areas.
  • Recruit and interview volunteers to ensure a diverse and skilled team.
  • Ensure the fleet vehicles are well-maintained and in good working order, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
