Cornwall, United Kingdom Cornwall Council Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Health Visitors and School Nurses across Cornwall within the 0-19 Team, to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

The post holder will provide family health support to children from 0-19 and their families under the direction and leadership of the Heath Visitors and School Nurses.

The post will involve home visiting, clinic work and participation in group work.

We are very progressive in Cornwall in developing partnership working across Cornwall Council's Children's services, to ensure we deliver the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme to improve the health and well-being within our community.

Our vision for delivering the Healthy Child Programme, in partnership with key partner agencies is to ensure that every child in Cornwall has the Best Start in life and grows up to be happy, safe, healthy, confident and resilient.

We are looking for an innovative and motivated worker who has the following skills:

  • BTECH/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or Degree in Early Years or above
  • Evidence of working with children and young people within the community.
  • Willingness to undertake further training as required
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to partnership working and supporting children and their families.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

Fairness and inclusion are at the heart of our vision for Cornwall.

In order to best serve our communities, we are striving to achieve a diverse workforce that is inclusive of all backgrounds, cultures and identities; e.g.

race, disability, sex, gender, age, religion and sexual orientation. We are an equal opportunities and Disability Confident employer, and we will assess applicants on their merits.

Cornwall Council is committed to safeguarding and following safer recruitment principles to help make sure our staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children, young people and adults at risk.

It's a vital part of creating a safe and positive environment and making a commitment to keeping all service users safe from harm.

Whilst the location/work-base for this role has been specified, our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
