This is an exciting opportunity to join the in-house fostering service for Cornwall Council as a Family Worker. The role includes supporting a team of social workers who supervise Foster Carers across Cornwall. Your role will also include supporting Foster Carers in crisis, recruitment of Foster Carers, direct work with Foster Carers and the children they care for as well as supporting drop in support groups and foster carer training. We have 5 posts across Cornwall in 3 different Fostering teams. You will be joining a well established and supportive service with a range of multiagency professionals. You will be supervised and supported by a Team Manager and joint work with the supervisory social workers across Fostering and the wider service. There is also opportunity to progress to an advanced family worker with successful endorsement of portfolio and interview at an internal formal panel.
Cornwall Council deliver services to more than half a million local people and to over five million visitors a year. Find out about working and volunteering for us.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role has been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
We are happy to talk about flexible working options.

In order to best serve our communities, we are striving to achieve a diverse workforce that is inclusive of all backgrounds, cultures and identities; e.g. race, disability, sex, gender, age, religion and sexual orientation.
