- Role: Social Worker for Gweres Tus Yowynk (GTY - Helping Young People)
In this role, you will work with a specialized multi-agency adolescent service committed to supporting young individuals within their home environment or extended family network. The team consists of Social Workers, Targeted Youth Workers, Youth Justice Service Officers, and Functional Family Therapists across West, Mid, and East Cornwall. Your responsibilities will include direct work with young people, conducting assessments, managing caseloads, and providing high-quality interventions to prevent family breakdowns.
The Role:
We are seeking a passionate Social Worker to join our team in Cornwall, focusing on the complex needs of adolescents. Ideal candidates should possess experience in working with children, youths, and families, with a specific interest in adolescent behavior and challenges like mental health, exploitation, and substance abuse. Strong communication skills, assessment abilities, and a child-centered approach are essential.
This position requires proficiency in the English language, in line with public sector standards.
Requirements for Success:
- Prior experience in social care
- Proven track record of enhancing children's lives
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and theories in children's social work
- Ability to conduct assessments and implement evidence-based care plans
