We are seeking a Business Support Assistant to provide efficient and effective clerical, typing, and database support to our Children and Family Services. This role is a key point of contact for the public, staff, elected members, and partnership agencies. The ideal candidate will be flexible, cooperative, and prioritize support for colleagues.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Accurately enter data onto database systems, maintain logs, and ensure qualitative data entry.
  • Type various reports, correspondence, and documents, prioritizing work effectively.
  • Maintain appointment diaries, arrange meetings, book rooms, and uphold filing systems.
  • Liaise with field staff and linked institutions to obtain and distribute information as directed.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, calls, and visitors, ensuring the efficient functioning of the Service.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, shredding, and managing emails.
  • Assist in the organisation and administration of service and training events, attend meetings, and take minutes when necessary, including the design and production of newsletters.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven clerical and administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in typing and using database systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively within a team.
  • Experience in minute-taking and event organisation is desirable.
