Overview:


Provides research and analysis to address reconciliation inquiries, monitor and report on identified exceptions, calculation discrepancies and/or provide project support to business partners, clients and bondholders.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand Corporate Trust Operations team's processes, procedures and system functionality to update and improve existing operational controls and gaps, as required.
  • Review the Company's accounting transaction documentation for completeness and accuracy and research account variances and ensure they are resolved timely. Balance worksheet total and reconcile transactions to ledger accounts.
  • Research and resolve complex operational and/or calculation discrepancies in response to bondholder and business partner inquiries.
  • Provide support on projects impacting the Corporate Trust Operations team, including but not limited to, developing test plans, strategies and scripts and independently testing system releases and enhancements.
  • Identify control gaps through oversight of daily operational processes; research solutions that enhance the control environment.
  • Ensure regulatory deadlines and department guidelines are met for operational processing to protect Company interests and retain and expand customer relationships.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify riskrelated issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 years' relevant experience,

OR in lieu of a degree,

A combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years' relevant experience

Detail-oriented

Education and Experience Preferred:
Financial services experience

Securities knowledge

Ability to work under time constraints while maintaining accuracy
