Background
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual within the examinations department of the MRCP(UK) Central office.

This is a new role which has been created to support and implement changes to the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills - PACES).


Main responsibilities

  • To work with the Royal Colleges' administrative staff and examiners to understand the number of scenarios required at examination centres and to effectively select, review and distribute scenarios according to tight examination deadlines
  • To support the scenarios coordinator in the maintenance of the scenarios database and meeting departmental objectives
  • To monitor usage, content and supply of scenarios so that the database is sustainable and able to proactively meet requirements of the clinical exam.
  • To establish and support a group of senior clinicians (Vetters) to ensure the quality and consistency of scenarios

Experience

  • Experience of working in office administration
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines, demonstrating a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to use initiative and work flexibly as a member of a busy team
  • Effective and clear written communication skills to liaise with professionals and international stakeholders
  • Ability to handle a variety of work situations with tact and diplomacy

The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK plays a pivotal role in setting the standards and, through a variety of activities, influences the quality of medical practice in hospitals.

It conducts examinations, carries out training, education and research activities and advises Government and the profession on health and medical matters.

The MRCP(UK) Central Office is based in London.

The MRCP(UK) Central Office is responsible for exams and assessments for physicians in training on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Physicians of London (the Federation of Royal College of Physicians of the UK).
