We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a reputable educational setting in Preston.


About the school:


As a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced SEN professionals and contribute to the overall development and wellbeing of students with special educational needs.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting SEN students in their daily activities, including academic tasks, personal care, and social integration.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Supporting students with their emotional and behavioral needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Facilitating communication and interaction between students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and providing feedback to the SEN team.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and materials.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • The willingness to learn and develop new skills within an SEN environment.
  • A supportive and nurturing approach towards student development.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to adapt to various learning technologies.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Desirable relevant experience working with children, preferably in an educational or care setting.
