Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) offers a range of services to support people with learning disabilities in the community.


LPFT's adult learning disability service provides specialist health support to people with learning disabilities who require assessment and/or treatment for their physical and mental health, including support with behaviours of concern.


There is an exciting opportunity within Lincolnshire's adult learning disability east hub to recruit a a therapy assistant providing direct support to the registered physiotherapist and occupational therapist in delivering care to people with a learning disability.

The west hub covers a wide geographical area, this includes Lincoln, Gainsborough and Navenby.

Supporting interventions in accordance with care plans completed by the qualified staff.

Being a compassionate, organised, team player with excellent communication skills and effective time management skills are key.

Enthusiasm and motivation are just as important as your experience for this role.

Contribute to the assessment and analysis of clinical and non-clinical situations, making routine judgements to resolve straightforward problems.


Communicate information with service users and their carers taking into account barriers to communication using reassurance, tact, empathy and alternative communication modes.

Promote equality for all service users and understand their health needs.

Demonstrate an awareness of service user and carer perspectives on the provision of treatment and continuing care.

Implements programs devised by the therapist for individuals with learning disabilities.

Modify approaches and activities within programs to meet the service user's needs.


To provide clear and accurate feedback to the t herapist s with regards to service user participation, achievements, and progress.

Work in a variety of settings including service users' home, nursing homes, day care provisions and supported living.

Develop s a range of resources in partnership with the service users and their families/ carers.

Be proficient in the use of a range of therapeutic interventions that can promote independence and function.

To support therapists with training.

To work collaboratively with other professionals within the MDT team.

Prioritise own caseload.

Undertake training as required to meet service requirements/outcomes.

Demonstrate flexibility to meet service requirements/outcomes.


Ensure accurate and appropriate information is recorded within the service user's clinical notes and/or using the Trust's clinical information system.
