We are a friendly, busy department serving Coventry and the large surrounding Warwickshire area sited in the University Hospital in Coventry.

We are looking to recruit a friendly, versatile, enthusiastic, highly motivated and patient orientated apprentice with a passion to deliver an excellent service in our Neurophysiology clinics and to being a part of our team.


The Neurophysiology Department is part of the wider Neurosciences group and is predominantly responsible for Diagnostic tests involving assessing the electrical activity in the brain, nerves and muscles.

We provide a comprehensive range of Neurophysiological Investigations for all age groups which include EEG, EMG/Nerve conduction studies and Evoked potential.

These investigations can be used to diagnose and monitor a wide range of neurological conditions. They may be performed in both the outpatient and inpatient ward, ICU and SCBU settings.

The role is clinically based and involves working closely with patients of all ages and abilities.

You will need to be able to show empathy and compassion to our patients and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to convey complex and sensitive information and to gain the trust and co-operation of our patients, their family, parents or carers, including those with learning or physical disability.

You will need to be able to work quickly and with precision and a high level of hand eye co-ordination.

You will be closely supervised and work/train alongside a team of Clinical Physiologist and Medical Consultants.


The apprenticeship is at a Level 6 and you will be expected to attend the BSc (Hons) Healthcare Sciences (Neurophysiology) at University of West England, (UWE).

You will need to hold qualifications to meet the entry requirements of this course. This course involves a mixture of distance and face to face learning so will require some travelling for blocks.

  • To ensure tests are performed in accordance with protocols and that data is accurately documented and processed in a timely manner.
