Derby, Derby, United Kingdom National Trust Full time
We're looking for a Collections & House Officer to join out team at Calke Abbey.

You'll work one in three weekends and some bank holidays. You'll also undertake duty management in the mansion 1 or 2 days per week.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Senior Collections and House Officer, you'll be a line manager of staff team members, and help supervise and train a growing team of Collections volunteers.

You'll join a skilled and passionate Collections Team at an exciting time, as we develop our offer as one of the National Trust's 28 Treasure Houses and continue to deliver first-rate conservation work.

The vast and atmospheric Calke Abbey is home to an extensive and complex collection of over 30,000 objects, ranging from the finest têxtiles to unusual curios.

The distinctive Spirit of Place and abandoned appearance of many of the rooms calls for a unique approach to conservation, with the mantra 'Repair not Restore' at the heart of all we do.

Our work balances managing the precious interiors and objects, with ensuring that the 100,000+ visitors we welcome through the doors annually can access and engage with Calke and its fascinating stories.
