Care & Custody is one of the leading providers of outsourced public services in the UK. We're looking for respectful, diligent and caring people to join our team of Detention Custody Officers ( DCOs).
We will support you every step of the way, developing your skills to professionally deliver this rewarding, sometimes challenging role with integrity and respect.
Working as a DCO within our team, we will provide you with the training to maintain high standards of security and safety for the residents in your care.
Detention Custody Officer (DCO) - Manchester Short Term Holding Facility
- Salary £26,349.12 per annum; Contractual hours 4
- Fixed Shift Pattern provided in advance
- Full flexibility will be required as this is a 24 hour service, 365 days a year. Your rolling shift pattern will cover both days and nights on a 4on/4off pattern
You must have a full UK manual driving licence - no endorsements and have held this for 1 year.
What we are looking for;
Detention Custody Officers need to demonstrate patience, resilience, professionalism and a genuine desire to help others. Our DCO's come from a variety of backgrounds, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Training
Successful applicants will be invited to attend a 6-week initial training course (ITC) with the added advantage of a Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody.

Essential Criteria
- UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
- Valid and indate passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK
- Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years with no more than 3 months spent overseas at any one time.
- Specific driving compliance is attached to this role.
- Full UK manual driving licence with at least 12 months post qualifying experience.
- Fewer than 6 points on your UK Driving Licence.
- Not currently bankrupt
Additional Information
**The training course will last 6 weeks and details will be provided on interview. Attendance is compulsory during the 6 weeks.
