Join Mitie, a leading provider of facilities management services, and take on a challenging role as a Detention Custody Officer Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Detention Custody Officers, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Detention Centre, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to Detention Custody Officers to help them achieve their key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver a safe and efficient operation.
- Work closely with the operational control centre to ensure accurate and current communication.
- Manage the accurate completion of all necessary documentation, highlighting any potential issues or discrepancies.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
- Monitor performance against laid-down criteria and actively support the Senior Management Team to develop service improvements.
- Identify and escalate incidents that may impact the smooth running of the operation, the safety, security, or welfare of detainees, staff, or members of the public.
Requirements
- Managerial experience in a custodial environment is desirable.
- Experience as a Detention Custody Officer is essential.
- UK citizen, citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain, or EEA citizen.
- Valid and in-date passport with no restrictions on your stay in the UK.
- Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years with no more than 3 months spent overseas at any one time.
- Specific driving compliance is attached to this role.
- Full NI manual driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience.
- Fewer than 7 points on your NI Driving Licence.
- Have not been subject to a driving ban within the last 12 months (from date of ban ending).
- Not currently bankrupt.
- The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; successful candidates will be required to undergo Enhanced DBS and vetting to a level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC).
