As a Detention Custody Officer, you will be responsible for escorting and transporting immigration residents within the UK, maintaining high standards of security and safety, and promoting the welfare and decency of residents in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Escort and transport immigration residents within the UK
  • Maintain high standards of security and safety
  • Promote the welfare and decency of residents in your care
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the detention centre
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen
  • Valid and in-date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK
  • Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years with no more than 3 months spent overseas at any one time
  • Full UK manual car driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience
  • Fewer than 6 points on your UK Driving Licence
  • Have not been subject to a driving ban within the last 5 years (from date of ban ending)
  • Not currently bankrupt
  • The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; Successful candidates will be required to undergo Enhanced DBS and vetting to a level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC)
