Transport Administrator (Supervisory Position)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIESSupervising team of drivers at our transport hub in Exeter. Organising routes, schedules and liaising with customers to create cost effective routes. Build up working relationships with the stores located within the Exeter Hub boundary;

  • Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward by creating a new transport support team to book in customer deliveries for all areas in UK supporting all our UK stores to achieve their targets;
  • Work to achieve personal objectives set by the Transport Manager
  • Understand the administrative requirements of both the Company and the customers in accordance with procedures and all relevant legislation;
  • Ensure effective practices and processes are in place to meet these requirements;
  • Input data to assist in the maintenance of accurate, orderly and legally compliant records in areas including but not limited to; vehicle servicing, training and refresher training requirements, vehicle defects, tyre tread, vehicle wash and holiday and absence;
  • Collect and input data to assist in the maintenance of operational reports;
  • Develop a clear understanding of the operation and all related legislation;
  • Build and maintain good professional relationships with the other members of the transport team, the driver fleet and key customer and supplier contacts;
  • Understand and consistently promote Company policy and procedure;
  • Work on adhoc projects as required by the Transport & Operations Manager;
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
  • Work with the transport team to continually improve processes and business performance;
