Lawson Road Surgery are looking for a Medical secretary to join our Team

the job involves:

  • Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required by the GP's and management team
  • Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
  • Maintaining an accurate referrals database
  • Processing letters as requested
  • Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)
  • Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors' letters and DVLA to the administrators
  • Process personal, telephone and erequests for appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
  • Signpost patients to the correct service
  • Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
  • Clinically code data on the clinical system
  • Photocopy documentation as required
  • Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
  • Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
  • Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
  • Partake in audit as directed by the practice manager when required
  • Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
  • Partake in mandatory eLearning and face to face training

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Salary:
£11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
