Job Title: Housing Technical Officer
Location: NorthamptonshireOffice and Hybrid - community inspection work
Rate of Pay: £26.92 per hour PAYE
Working Hours: 37 hrs, Mon-Fri
Type: 3-month Contract
- Inspection of properties to determine compliance with housing standards and assessing appropriate action.
- To work with the private sector housing team to promote grants and energy efficiency.
- Provide advice and information to occupiers, tenants, landlords and businesses on housing standards and tenancy issues.
- To assist within the service area with other duties such as water sampling and drainage investigations.
- To reduce fuel poverty and increase the energy efficiency of the housing stock.
- To target long term empty properties and identify ways to bring the property back into use including, advice, grants, leasing and enforcement.
- Experience in the application of HHSRS - Essential.
- Be able to deal with housing conditions complaints, undertake housing inspections, draw up repairs schedules of work, take enforcement action under various housing standards legislation.
- Experience of handling empty property complaints and may deal with renovation grant enquiries / inspections also.
