The Post holder will need to have good all-round administration and computer skills, plus a good customer service approach and a good telephone manner.


The Community Services Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Covering the main phone line telephone; recording general telephone enquiries and passing them on to the relevant team; receiving deliveries and post
  • Inputting Client information and statistical information accurately on to Age UK WF's database
  • Supporting the Community Services Manager, Service staff and Volunteers with general admin duties and maintaining the current client case record filing system.
  • Carrying out simple telephone assessments for new clients; setting up New Client files and updating existing files
  • Assisting with diary management and booking appointments
  • Assisting with checking timesheets; issuing invoices and taking payments for services
  • Attending staff meetings, supervision meetings and training when requested
  • Gaining customer feedback through sending questionnaires and recording responses; making calls on a regular basis to ensure continuous service improvement.
  • Learning and understanding, following and being committed to Age UK Waltham Forest's policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all customers, staff and volunteers are treated with respect and that their human rights and dignity are upheld.

Preferred qualifications and experience include:

  • Understanding of the needs of older people including those who are particularly isolated and vulnerable.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience of working in the third sector.
  • Comfortable using main Microsoft Office packages (word, excel, powerpoint etc).
  • Excellent communication skills.
