Due to business acquisition and continued growth, we are seeking a Planning Manager, that will be responsible for leading the entire Planning & Supply Chain function associated with manufacturing & engineering operations.


Key Duties

  • Develops Sales, Inventory and Operating Plan summaries for assigned product families
  • Present a yearly summary on demand, production & inventory status at regular leadership meetings
  • Own and maintain the leadtime prospectus for all products and feedback latest market requirement on leadtimes and service levels to the manufacturing and supply chain teams.
  • Be the leading voice in the business on all product supply matters both internally and externally.
  • Lead the product rationalisation, complexity reduction and obsolescence agenda on behalf of the business, demand, and other data to inform the discussion and subsequent proposals.
  • Develop a 12month master production schedule for forecasted product demand and component items based on capacity requirements
  • Calculates resulting requirements for raw materials, purchased parts, subcon and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology
  • Participates on ERP/MRP operating system eliminate the use of offline spreadsheets and adhoc processes for scheduling.
  • Lead efforts to install standard processes for the Master production schedulers team function, in accordance with MRPII and best supply practice methodologies.
  • Manage a small team of professional production and supply chain planners.
  • Achieve target customer service levels and inventory turn levels based on forecast error and bias trends, manufacturing capacity/flexibility and customer service and inventory turn goals. Review monthly.
  • Use ERP system and other associated systems for Capacity Planning to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; load level production plan and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcingor expediting.
  • Conduct training programs for other users in department
  • Review New Product introductions to ensure that Supply Chain can support all program requirements.
  • Issues actual versus scheduled production metrics weekly and ensure that "best in class" compliance to schedule is achievable. (Schedule Compliance Metric)
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain or a Technically relevant field or considerable number of years experience
  • Ideally materials management experience in a multilevel BOM manufacturing environment
  • Experienced user of ERP and MRP class "A" experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of finite scheduling systems
  • Ability to lead & influence others
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills
  • Self motivated / Self starter
  • Ability to work unsupervised
