Our client is a
vibrant, successful and growing family business within the agri/horticulture sector
in Northern Ireland.

As an independent, family run business, they have carved
out a successful niche as a supplier of choice. Due to ongoing expansion, a
superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Farm Manager to play a key
role in the current and future growth and success of the business.

This will be both a hands-on role and as such the
successful applicant will be equally comfortable in front of the owners and farm
staff. Excellent communication skills will be essential as will the desire to
build a long-term career with a company that will reward excellence and
performance.

KEY DUTIES

  • Plan,
    organise, direct and control the operations of the nursery and greenhouses
  • Oversee the
    conditions needed to grow fruit and veg and design planting and care
    schedules accordingly
  • Supervise
    staff in planting, transplanting, feeding and spraying stock
  • Identify
    and control insect, disease and weed problems
  • Order
    materials such as fertilizer, garden and lawn care equipment, and other
    nursery and greenhouse related accessories
  • Hire and
    manage staff, oversee training and set work schedules
  • Maintain
    records and documents

THE PERSON

· A minimum of 2-3 years experience within Horticulture as either a Manager or Supervisor

· Excellent communication
skills, both written and verbal

· Excellent people management
and motivational skills

· Strong IT and paperwork skills

· Looking for a long-term career
opportunity

SALARY

An attractive salary based on
experience within the range of £35k - £40 per annum will be on offer to the
successful candidate.

Live in accommodation can also
be provided if required.
