Head of Internal Communications, Marketing and Campaigns

London, Greater London, United Kingdom Michael Page (UK) Full time
About Our ClientThe Met is the largest emergency service in London with more than 32,000 officers.

Your task, as Head of Internal Communications, Marketing and Campaigns, will be to lead your departments as the Met goes through the biggest period of reform in its history.

This is a completely new role within the department's senior leadership team, where you will lead our external marketing and campaigns activity, as well as internal communications.

With a £6 million budget, you'll take responsibility for communications with thousands of officers and staff working across London.
You'll oversee two key challenges. Ensuring our diverse and complex workforce understands our organisational priorities and creating innovative new campaigns which attract new officers.

The department is currently going through a significant transformation to enable it to meet the growing demand placed on it.

Leading through change, setting the vision, and inspiring the team to follow this will be integral to your success.

The fast pace of the Met means the unit must often respond to live events, which makes it exciting and rewarding.

However, the need to build trust and confidence in our service has never been more critical.

In short, this is a rare opportunity to overhaul internal communications and as well as the Met's relationship with London.

To be considered, you must have held high-profile campaigning roles at a similar level and changed behaviour using insight and creativity.

While internal communications expertise is essential it's not the only must-have. Ideas, imagination, and an understanding of audiences are just as crucial if you're going to create a sea change.
