Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planner to join our Planning Team reporting to the Plant Manager. This is a crucial role to support John Crane in optimizing our operational performance through meticulous and organized Production Planning. The Planner will be responsible for coordinating the production workflow and scheduling Production Works Orders to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products to the customer based on the original promise date requirements agreed with the commercial team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. This role is full-time, based at our Headquarters in Slough, working Monday to Friday in regular hours. Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
  1. Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands, optimize resource utilization, and minimize costs as defined by inputs from the Production Team.
  2. Execute standardized planning processes through standard work while identifying and supporting opportunities for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  4. Monitor production processes and ensure updated schedules as needed to address issues and delays, with strong communication to the Customer Services Team.
  5. Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement actions in line with Production and S&OP to increase efficiency and output.
  6. Coordinate with inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels of raw materials and finished products.
  7. Communicate production schedules, goals, and deadlines to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Evaluate production capacity and capabilities to support business growth objectives aligned with the S&OP team.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in production planning and management.
  10. Act as the liaison to the CST team, supporting commercial-led meetings as required.
  11. SAP data cleanse/accuracy focusing on Leadtime and planning parameters.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the planning team.
The Individual

To be successful in this role, the individual should demonstrate previous planning experience within an engineering setting, planning elements of ERP software, ideally SAP analytical and problem-solving skills, and communication skills to work in a fast-paced environment.
