Job Summary

As a Capacity Engineer Manager at Equinix, you will oversee the team responsible for maintaining critical facilities infrastructure in our data centers. You will be the point of contact for critical issues and ensure the accuracy of installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Space Planning & Design
    • Develop complex and unique cage-cabinet design options that meet customer requirements, Equinix standards, and physical site constraints.
    • Provide test-fits for new Data Center developments and act as a mentor to Senior Capacity Planners.
    • Maximize space utilization to develop the best design solution.
  • Problem Solving
    • Solve complex, cross-functional issues with business implications that span multiple groups.
    • Identify and understand underlying issues and take the lead to solve them with business leads.
  • Data & Drawing Management
    • Work with site operations to document added infrastructure and special installations.
    • Ensure AutoCAD drawings accurately represent site installations and lead site teams to ensure data and CAD drawings are accurate.
  • Collaboration
    • Act as a senior advisor and provide direction to entry and intermediate planners to analyze and resolve technical problems.
    • Monitor workload and redistribute tasks as required to meet deadlines.
  • Capacity Feasibility & Optimization
    • Make recommendations to Data Center business owners to optimize Data Center efficiency and utilization.
    • Proactively lead the business to solve complex problems.
  • Project Management
    • Initiate and deliver capacity-related projects aligned with strategic objectives and key results.
    • Develop implementation approaches and success metrics.
Requirements
  • Proven years of related experience.
  • Intrinsic motivation to lead and support a team.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD 2D.
  • Driver to understand the background and consequences of actions in a bigger picture.
  • Motivation to directly engage with different stakeholders.
  • Good English language communication and writing skills.
  • Basic understanding of the data center business and technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge to handle databases and CRM software.
