Job Title: Critical Care Consultant

Job description:
Job responsibilities
  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent.
  • Fully registered medical practitioner with license to practice on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • CCT or CESR in Intensive Care Medicine.
  • Experience of general critical care casemix.
  • Experience of tertiary management of complex critical care weaning patients.
  • Experience of managing critically ill burns patients.
  • Experience of point of care echocardiography and British Society of Echocardiography level one accreditation or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing post ECMO patients.
  • Evidence of using audit to improve practice.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date literature.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Some departmental management experience.
  • Evidence of postgraduate management.
  • Able to travel to and from hospital sites, including out of hours.
  • Interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  • Experience in teaching postgraduates clinical and procedural skills.
  • Interest in teaching paramedical staff.
  • Educational qualification.
  • Multidisciplinary team experience.
  • Enquiring, critical approach to problems.
  • Commitment to continuing medical education.
