Role


To provide high quality administrative support for the preparation and delivery of a wide range of high-quality activities and support across the student lifecycle, for both students and staff.


To support the Academic and Student Administration Co-ordinator in the development of a culture of customer care and the delivery of a professional student support service that is accessible, high quality and student centred.


To work effectively with School and Service colleagues, contributing to the overall delivery of the Academic and Student Administration Service.

To assist with the production of reports and analyses on the effectiveness of the Academic and Student Administration Service

Duties and responsibilities

  • To provide high quality and studentcentred service provision across the student lifecycle, including, but not restricted to, module registration and enrolment, change to student status, extenuating circumstances, assessment related activities, maintaining high quality student data on SITS, servicing of committees and groups, research student administration and support for activities such as face to face enrolment and graduation.
  • To provide accurate support, advice and guidance to students, partners, academics and service colleagues, ensuring effective knowledge and understanding of university policy, regulations and processes.
  • To actively contribute to the development of processes, procedures and innovations within the wider Registry services, proposing solutions to address identified issues.
  • To engage with rolespecific external networks, ensuring feedback and ideas are communicated within the appropriate working group or community of practice within Registry.
  • Representing Registry in School or Service meetings and events, including a visible presence in other departmental locations as part of the working week.
  • To ensure understanding of and work in accordance with defined departmental performance/service standards and KPIs.
  • To ensure that information provided to students and staff is up to date and accurate and first point of call resolution is maximised.
  • To work in accordance with defined performance/service standards, ensuring that queries are responded to effectively within an agreed timescale and contribute to the achievement of overall Service Level Agreements.
  • To support project and development work across the Service as required.
  • To effectively use technology to increase efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • To identify and report any health and safety issues in the relevant work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and University policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as may reasonably be required by the Registrar.

Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in accordance with high service standards with evidence of anticipating problems, improving standards and developing innovating customer solutions
  • Evidence of flexibility, the ability to organise a significant workload while balancing competing priorities and producing work to a high standard by agreed deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in simple and straightforward terms to students and staff.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively with a wide range of students and staff, including evidence of the use of tact,diplomacy and negotiation
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience of operating an integrated student records system or similar complex client management system
  • Effective and committed team player, able to work successfully with others and to build positive working relationships
  • Evidence of high standards of attention to detail
