Volunteer - Reward and Benefits Support Administrator**

Who we are:

The Reward and Benefits team manage the remuneration and benefits package for staff and officers across the organisation.

The team strives to have innovative reward strategies that attract and retain talented individuals and recognises excellent performance and behaviours to ensure the force remains resilient and can deliver its strategic objectives.

We work to give back to all the hard-working staff who support West Midlands Police in the best ways we can, to ensure they feel valued and appreciated within our organisation.


Why we need your help:


The Reward and Benefits Team has responsibility for the promotion and maintenance of our employee benefits platform and salary sacrifice schemes.

We require a support assistant to manage the day to day administrative tasks that support these schemes, and to answer general queries from staff and officers.

You will be working with a number of colleagues, helping you to improve your interpersonal and communication skills.

Through the work you complete you will also gain a better understanding for working as part of a team and gain knowledge of working for a well-respected organisation.

This role will improve a number of skills that will make you more employable, whilst also ensuring that our platform is kept running efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to assist us with the following:

  • Registering approvals and queries
  • Uploading data in bulk onto our systems
  • Working on creating and displaying promotions that will be used both internally and on our system.
  • Assisting Transport for West Midlands with corporate travel scheme queries

Skills and Experience:

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Good communications skills & a good level of written and spoken English
  • Reliable with good timekeeping skills
  • Happy to work independently or as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and good observational skills
  • Administration skills (Microsoft Office, Internet)

Location:

Lloyd House, Birmingham

Hours:

  • We are looking for volunteers to commit at least 16 hours per month ideally for a minimum of 12 months.
  • 4 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM based at Lloyd House there is flexibility around days and times. There may be a requirement to vary these hours during busy periods.
  • Times and dates to be agreed with the Rewards and Benefits team.

Vetting:

Successful applicants will need to complete NPPV level 2 vetting.
