Greenwich Children and Families Caseworker to join our team and provide both face-to-face and virtual / remote one-to-one case working to children, young people and their families who are at risk of, involved in, or on the periphery of, gangs and serious youth violence.

About this key role


We will count on you to conduct and review thorough risk management plans with young people and families ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan and to provide a client-led support service that responds to individual's needs, including supporting with substance misuse, offending and anti-social behaviour, accessing financial support and Education, Training and Employment (ETE).

You will deliver the service in a timely and targeted manner, working through identified issues on the action plan, and be expected to close cases effectively and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that can be used for ongoing support.


What we are looking for

  • To have lived experience similar to that of the client group or to have worked on an offenderled/ social care service with a commitment to utilising a peerled approach
  • Proven record of engaging and motivating a targeted client group and providing support and advocacy
  • Experience of calculating risk and implementing safety procedures for vulnerable clients
  • Experience of successfully engaging with high risk and high and complex need people
  • Experience of creating sessions which address offending behaviour and challenge negative mindset
  • IAG level 3, Mentoring Level 3 qualification (or be willing to work towards this)
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationshipbuilding and communication skills, both verbal and written
