Maars Fostering Limited is a reputable Independent Fostering Agency located in London, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to children and young individuals.

We are in search of a highly skilled and knowledgeable Registered Manager who possesses a comprehensive understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks governing fostering, ideally acquired within an Independent Fostering Agency.

Position Overview

We are looking for an exemplary professional to oversee our Fostering Service as a Registered Manager. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that every child under our care receives the utmost support, aiding them in establishing a stable foundation and achieving their full potential.

Role Transition

This position will commence on a part-time basis, allowing you to balance your responsibilities while our application is under review. Following the approval of the application and the completion of the Ofsted visit, the role will transition to a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the fostering service, ensuring adherence to Care Standards, Fostering Regulations, National Minimum Standards, Children Act, and other pertinent legislation.
  • Conduct Form F assessments and supervise staff, particularly in fostering environments.
  • Provide support and guidance to foster carers, children, and families through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, fostering relationships and advocating for positive changes.
  • Utilize technology for report writing, assessments, and consultations with both professional and non-professional groups.
  • Recognize outstanding performance and address areas for improvement among staff.
  • Collaborate with senior management to strategize and promote service growth.
  • Ensure fostering panel procedures comply with national standards and legislation.
  • Maintain and update the Statement of Purpose and Function as the service evolves.
  • Uphold confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR guidelines.
  • Strengthen relationships with Local Authorities and establish new partnerships.
  • Proficiently utilize the CHARMS electronic information system.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual foster carer reviews with documented competency evidence.
  • Collaborate with social workers to identify and meet the needs of foster homes, including breaks, activities, and treatment.
Qualifications

  • Recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • Valid Social Work England registration
  • Level 4 leadership and management qualification for health and social care
  • Level 5 diploma in leadership for children and young people services and health and social care
  • Expertise in staff supervision and management
  • Comprehensive understanding of Form F and fostering assessments
  • Significant experience working with Looked After Children

Salary:
£300 per day (part-time)

Transitioning to a full-time salary of £50,000 per annum upon successful approval.

Job Types:
Initially part-time, transitioning to full-time once the application is approved and Ofsted visit is completed. Permanent position.

Expected Hours:
No less than 40 hours per week (once the role transitions to full-time)
