Are you a Project Officer in search for an exciting new job opportunity? If so, the Greater London Authority are looking to recruit a Senior Project Officer on a 3-month contract (with possibility of an extension), starting immediately, to join their Skillsand Employment directorate.

The role is part time, 2.5 days a week, is based near Southwark and offers hybrid work.

Pay rate:
£23.81 per hour (PAYE) or £31.72 per hour (Umbrella)

THE ROLE:


To provide project management in the delivery of key regeneration projects and programmes; leading on the preparation and delivery of projects; and providing project management as and when required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver key regeneration projects using the GLA's project management methodology. Leading on projects by agreement.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance in terms of place making, design quality management, physical and economic regeneration and development and urban space management to senior colleagues in the GLA across the GLA Group and to external delivery partnersand sponsors.
  • Procure consultants and prepare contract specifications and grant award documentation to delivery partners. Assist in maintaining and monitoring project and programme financial information such as monitoring spend against budget.
  • Liaise with applicants and delivery partners, boroughs, and other organisations to help maintain excellent working relationships. Monitor delivery partners and track project activities and milestones against targets, take ownership and management of projectissues; take follow up or remedial actions if required. Produce project and programme communication and reports to track and report on project progress and tackle poor delivery when it occurs.
  • Lead on and enable the delivery of projects and actions through collaboration, encouragement, and advice, maintaining throughout a strong focus on good place shaping and regeneration.
  • Develop and manage implementation of guidelines and standardised approaches to support and maintain good project and programme management practice across the regeneration programme.
  • Develop successful networks within the organisation and with external partners to promote good practice across regeneration.
  • Manage resources allocated to the job in accordance with the Authority's policies and Code of Ethics and Standards.
