The position of DIO substitute accommodation officer offers a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with strong communication and analytical skills and a dedication to enhancing the quality of life for Service personnel.� This role involves reviewing and approving accommodation applications, ensuring compliance with strict standards, running reports, and handling inquiries.

This full-time position is for 37 hours per week.

Job Description

The DIO substitute accommodation officer supports the Substitute Accommodation Team (SAT) in overseeing the management of Substitute Service Family Accommodation (SSFA) and Substitute Service Single� Accommodation (SSSA) applications, evaluating case work, and making decisions through:

  • Using Microsoft products and Industry Partner information systems.
  • Verifying Industry Partner adherence to JSP 464
  • Regular communication with Industry Partner, stakeholders, and other DIO teams
  • Assessing all applications for policy compliance
  • Approving properties for the Substitute scheme
  • Reviewing case work for single and family applications
  • Providing high-quality service to Service personnel
  • Performing other duties as needed for the role

Person Specification

  • IT/Microsoft Office skills (desirable)
  • Potential for occasional travel

Some roles may offer a blend of office and remote work based on business requirements. New employees are expected to spend at least 60% of their time in the office. Relocation expenses are not provided.

External hires new to the Civil Service at the MOD will undergo a six-month probation period. Travel expenses for interviews are not covered. Note that pay-related allowances for this role is under review and may change.
