Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Officer to join our committed team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting the well-being of our students, supporting their personal development, and ensuring a positive school experience. This role is vital in helping to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pastoral support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' well-being.
  • Develop and implement pastoral care programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor and track students' attendance, behavior, and progress.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group sessions with students to address specific issues.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and social development.
  • Handle safeguarding concerns and follow the appropriate procedures.
  • Assist in the organization and delivery of assemblies and workshops on relevant topics.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of pastoral support activities.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive school culture and ethos.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
