Learning Facilitator - Apprentice Workshop

At the Marshall Skills Academy we are currently going through an exciting period of growth with demand from internal and external customers for delivery of apprenticeship training.


In 2023 we will see our biggest ever intake join us in our training workshop which will be in a brand new larger training facility here in Cambridge.

We have a number of opportunities for individuals with an engineering and/or aviation maintenance background, to join the team in these newly created roles.


These roles of Learning Facilitator will mainly be responsible for the delivery and assessment of Level 2 competency based qualifications in our apprenticeship workshop and ensuring they are conducted to the highest standard.

We are interested in individuals who can deliver and assess on one or more of the following qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering
  • EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)


We are particularly interested in those who have an aviation engineer background working in airframe, engines, mechanical systems and/or electrical avionics.


Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside a team of learning facilitators under the Apprentice Workshop Training Manager to deliver handson competence based qualifications
  • Development and delivery of learning solutions both in the workshop and classroom based settings
  • Development and facilitation of selfdirected learning which includes but is not limited to: coaching, progress review meetings and facetoface feedback sessions
  • Full delivery of competence and knowledge based learning for the level 2 qualifications we deliver at the start of our apprenticeship programmes
  • Ensuring delivery meets the high standards required by the Marshall Skills Academy and meets audit and compliance criteria for OFSTED and ESFA as well as awarding and regulatory organisations
  • Assisting with ensuring the quality of delivery and assessment is modern and innovative whilst meeting the needs of our customers and the industry
  • Taking responsibility for monitoring and reporting on performance of the learners
  • Managing apprentice behaviour and performance and ensure our apprentices have an extraordinary experience during their time with us in the apprentice training workshop
  • Understanding and participating in training related to safeguarding, SEND, first aid, Health & Safety, Prevent and British Values
  • Updating and maintaining the individual learner records on One File (our eportfolio system)
  • Ensure a high standard of service for our learners and our employers
  • Participating in delivery of other courses and qualifications when needed as part of a wider learning facilitator pool within the Marshall Skills Academy
  • Assisting the Workshop Manager in creating and delivering other courses and activity within the training workshop
