London, Greater London, United Kingdom Fortrea Full time
Company description:

As a renowned global contract research organization (CRO) dedicated to scientific rigor and boasting decades of experience in clinical development, Fortrea offers a diverse array of clinical development, patient access, and technology solutions across over 20 therapeutic fields.

With a workforce of more than 19,000 professionals operating in excess of 90 nations, Fortrea is revolutionizing drug and device development for both partners and patients worldwide.

Job description:

What's the deal with this role?

  • New medicines discovery is rooted in clinical trials.
  • Our Leeds Clinic focuses on the first stage of testing in human subjects: phase 1 studies.

Our findings have revealed that having a Recreational Coordinator significantly alters the experience for clinical trial participants, enhancing engagement and adherence to protocol procedures. This is where you step in. Your mission is to design and implement entertainment and social activities for volunteers/patients during their time at the clinic.

We're counting on you to:

Organize and execute entertainment programs tailored to participant needs based on study duration, age groups, gender, study prerequisites, and budget limitations.

Plan a diverse calendar of activities that cater to the requirements of participants of all ages and conditions, promoting inclusivity and creativity.

Run projects in compliance with relevant SOPs, study protocols, Good Clinical Practices, and Fortrea's cardiac resuscitation policy.

Prioritize the dignity, health, safety, and well-being of volunteers, ensuring adherence to protocols and maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders.

Required qualifications:

Expertise in Leisure or Recreation management acquired through education, training, and experience, ideally in a residential, nursing, kindergarten, or retirement home environment. Previous involvement in planning and organizing diverse activities for varied groups regarding gender, age, and physical conditions is crucial.

Demonstrate empathy, understanding of patient needs in a healthcare setting, ability to enforce regulations, and exhibit a positive, creative, and enthusiastic demeanor.

Excellent communication skills, ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and health conditions.

What's in it for you?

  • Imagine how your knack for organizing activities can contribute to medical progress.
  • Discover a role that blends recreation with medical innovation.
  • Fortrea, one of the world's largest early-stage Clinical Research Organizations, recently enhanced its clinic in Leeds, a cutting-edge 65,000 ft facility solely dedicated to Early Clinical Research.
  • If you have a passion for coordinating recreational activities, this full-time, office-based position with 37 hours per week could be your next big opportunity.
  • The job may require some weekend work, compensating for it with flexi time or overtime pay.
