Direct Sales Director, you will manage, develop and coach the Direct Sales team to deliver an outstanding service to new and existing commercial customers; maximising all sales opportunities in order to meet Commercial lending targets and KPI's. You will drive forward the growth of the Direct channel by enhancing team capability through lead generation, people development and sales process improvement.

As a Direct Sales Director, we are looking for someone to:

  • Be accountable for delivering and exceeding Commercial lending and growth targets through the Direct channel
  • Drive and manage performance through coaching and support in order to meet individual and departmental targets
  • Hold monthly 1-2-1 and coaching sessions to develop the team's sales skills; assessing and recommending improvement and development plans to enhance their performance and quality to achieve set targets
  • Ensure the team are fully trained and coached in line with the T&C policy and procedure, with development plans in place to grow individual and business capability
  • Collaborate effectively with the Marketing Team to promote existing products, introducer propositions & identify new opportunities
  • Demonstrate a great understanding of the commercial secured lending market and ensure the team are kept up to date with market changes
  • Manage, monitor, analyse and evaluate the team's performance and develop opportunities by utilising CRM & Power BI
  • To constantly strive to improve the Direct Sales customer experience by challenging existing processes and practices and recommending change where appropriate
  • Manage operational risk and all processes/ procedures through relevant governance frameworks appropriate to role and function

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience of leading, motivating and developing a high performing sales team within a direct to customer business
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets and delivering exceptional sales results in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work alongside peers/colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication and ability to build a high performing team
  • CRM experience
  • Creative thinker, able to originate new sales methods

Desirable

  • Experience of the commercial finance market and associated product
