Independent Committee Members Description

Independent Committee Member

Part Time commitment of 6-8 meetings per year

Meetings are held in person in Newcastle upon Tyne generally in the afternoons.

Remuneration of £3000 per annum plus expenses for travel and or accommodation

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our committees and support our journey towards excellence in governance and assurance. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a part in the leadership and governance of Home Group and develop your skills towards future board roles.

How you'll get involved

Attending committee meetings and contributing to discussions with your insights and expertise. Reviewing and analysing reports related to the organisation's governance, financial, and operational management. Providing expert opinion, analysis, and advice to enhance decision-making processes. Engaging in constructive challenges to existing practices and proposing innovative solutions. Collaborating with committee members and the executive team to drive strategic priorities. Participating in training sessions and staying updated on relevant sector developments.

At this time, we are particularly, though not exclusively, interested to hear from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Development or Construction Health and Safety Clinical Governance Financial Governance or Social Housing Finance Governance

You bring

Proven experience in leadership, management, or regulatory roles in relevant sectors. The skills and experience to help lead an ambitious, innovative and values-led housing association Proven ability to work at a strategic level, think creatively and challenge constructively through the application of your knowledge and experience Integrity and independent judgement alongside a commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other Committee Members, Board Members and Executive teams Enthusiasm and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of people in our communities.

Post Details

Pay of £3,000 per annum, and additional out of pocket expenses including travel and or accommodation Commitment of between 6 and 8 in person committee meetings per year in Newcastle upon Tyne Meetings are mostly during working hours in the afternoons. Once appointed we'll build a specific induction and development programme, tailored to your professional and personal development needs We ask for a minimum commitment of at least 2 years You'll need an Enhanced DBS check, that we pay for
