Join Our Governance Team

We are seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our committees and contribute to the governance and assurance of Home Group.

As a member of our committee, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our organization and driving strategic priorities. You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise and progress into future board roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend committee meetings and contribute to discussions with your insights and expertise.
  • Review and analyze reports related to the organization's governance, financial, and operational management.
  • Provide expert opinion, analysis, and advice to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Engage in constructive challenges to existing practices and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with committee members and the executive team to drive strategic priorities.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay updated on relevant sector developments.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leadership, management, or regulatory roles in relevant sectors.
  • The skills and experience to help lead an ambitious, innovative, and values-led housing association.
  • Proven ability to work at a strategic level, think creatively, and challenge constructively through the application of your knowledge and experience.
  • Integrity and independent judgment alongside a commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other Committee Members, Board Members, and Executive teams.
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of people in our communities.
What We Offer
  • Pay of £3,000 per annum, and additional out-of-pocket expenses including travel and/or accommodation.
  • Commitment of between 6 and 8 in-person committee meetings per year in Newcastle upon Tyne.
  • Meetings are mostly during working hours in the afternoons.
  • Once appointed, we'll build a specific induction and development programme, tailored to your professional and personal development needs.
  • We ask for a minimum commitment of at least 2 years.
  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
