Maternity services in Oxfordshire provides care to families across the county helping 7500 people and their babies. This role will be integral to supporting and developing maternity support workers with the maternity practice education team.

To be fully aware of the responsibilities and limitations of the Maternity Support Worker (MSW).


The post holder will assist the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high quality, effective and compassionate family-centred maternity service; to ensure optimal care for birthing people and babies.

To lead and provide support and education to band 2-3 Maternity Support Workers, from initial recruitment to induction and on-going development.

Role models high standards of clinical practice and leadership.

Ensures that band 2 and 3 maternity support workers provide a high standard of practice based on current guidelines, policies and standards.

To assist in the implementation of new guidelines, policies, and initiatives in all areas of maternity.
