People Advisor

We are seeking a People Advisor to play a pivotal role in being the main HR site contact providing all round HR support as well as supporting the People Administrator with weekly and monthly processing activities. This role is site based and requires a hands-on approach where experience in similar role is required and experience within from a fast-moving, food, or FMCG background is highly desirable. The role will also have a key focus on site engagement activities and internal communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the People Administrator with HR administrative duties for weekly and monthly paid employees and processing activities covering the whole employee life cycle (starters – contracts of employment, leavers, change to terms and conditions, probationary reviews, one to ones, absence monitoring etc.) in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Manage all ER cases end to end for site, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working requests, welfare meetings, absence management meetings etc.
  • Coach and develop People Managers knowledge with capability and ER Processes
  • Maintain and update employee records, files, and trackers
  • Manage Occupational Health programme, working alongside the factory to ensure the schedule is achievable and highlighting any concerns to Production Managers, People & Development Manager and HSE Manager appropriately.
  • Adherence to company procedures in relation to salary increases, department transfers etc.
  • Manage the annual pay review administration in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage the probation review process for all new starters ensuring any contractual salary increases are applied.
  • Ensure the leaver process is followed and support with exit interviews
  • Assist in the implementation of specific HR projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the People department and of the organisation.
  • Attend weekly People/Payroll administration meeting to ensure all changes are processed correctly through payroll.
  • Actively understand internal manning requirements and daily analysis required to support Production requirements.
  • Ensure onboarding process is effective and schedule new starter inductions in line with business requirements.
  • Maintain and update People communication platforms including notice boards and Mo with relevant communications
  • Ensure due diligence checks are completed and legal compliance is always maintained, including Right to Work checks and Stronger Together requirements.
  • Provide HR KPI's relating to ER cases, PDR performance, and probation reviews to support the monthly Executive Board Meeting
  • Champion a culture of "team" at all levels and develop a culture where employee engagement and communication are actively promoted
  • Presence within factory once a week to further channels for engagement and communication with shop floor
  • Lead and/ or support on various site initiatives in areas such as Engagement activities, wellbeing and cultural development
  • Supporting the People & Development Manager with all day-to-day operational and transactional HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, wellbeing, and compliance.
  • Development of HR data and analytics. Including completion of statutory surveys as and when required.
  • Taking a proactive approach to identify any process improvements to improve processes across the business
  • Support all Quality Audits by providing timely People information.
  • Continuous improvement projects related to the Company People Handbook, Policies and Procedures to maintain best practice.
  • Support the People Team with wider business change projects and contribute to the delivery of the People Plan.
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings as required onsite to represent the People function and cascading any messages as required.
  • Be an ambassador for the Company's Vision and Values.

Essential:

  • Degree level qualified / or relevant experience
  • 3 years HR/ER Experience
  • Good Literacy & Numeracy skills, along with PC Literacy
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of UK employment law and its pragmatic application

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a People Team in FMCG
  • CIPD Qualification or equivalent Level 5
