In this role you will provide administrative and data management support for the Goods and Services Purchasing function (GASP).


The Purchasing Assistant supports the Arkema businesses within the UK, namely Bostik Limited (Stafford, Leicester & Dalton), Bostik Adhesives Limited (Kidderminster) & Siroflex Limited (Barnsley).

The role operates in a fast-paced environment with transversal responsibilities to GASP Europe. The Purchasing Assistant must prioritise workload and be flexible to new demands, whilst undertaking a wide range of clerical and system maintenance duties in support of the overall UK delegated Purchasing function

The applicant should be self-motivated, with a can-do attitude and bring enthusiasm, diligence & aptitude to the role.

You duties will include

  • Release/Create/Approve Purchase Requisitions/Orders and send to supplier through SAP
  • Resolve Invoice queries
  • Maintain contracts database upload new contracts, terminate expired contracts and communicate to contract owners the status of the contracts
  • VDoc new supplier creation and approval process
  • Vendor modification through MDP
  • Master Data maintenance and administration
  • Produce spend reports
  • Seek pricing and availability for 'local' purchasing items, ensuring goods are purchased at an acceptable quality and the lowest achievable total cost.
  • Launching RFQ's and tenders for managed suppliers.
  • Produce reports to support management objectives such as Supplier Questionnaires / Certification, Supplier OTIF, spend analysis etc.
  • Controlling and maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Maintain an awareness of health, safety and environmental standards as determined by company policy and statutory requirements. Ensure all aspects of job function comply with these.
  • Reporting through PowerBi


Following completion of a probation period there will be the opportunity to undertake CIPS Qualifications to help promote future development within procurement.


Required qualifications/experience

  • The jobholder should be qualified to A Level with experience of working in a busy office based environment.
  • Welldeveloped administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Knowledge of general business practice and IT skills are essential, specifically Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • SAP knowledge desirable
  • A years' experience in purchasing administration desirable.

Pay:
£26,000.00 per year
