The University of Surrey, in collaboration with JT Financial Management Ltd, an FCA-regulated investment consultancy business, are seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Developer – Finance, to spearhead a groundbreaking Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Project.
This position is based at JTFM in Guildford, Surrey, and supported by a team of experts from the University of Surrey, including Professor Bonnie Buchanan (School of Business and Hospitality & Tourism Management), and Dr Ehsan Toreini (School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering).
We are looking for an initiative-taking and purposeful individual with:
– A postgraduate degree in Investment Management, Fintech & Policy, Business/Data Analytics, Finance, Computer/Data Science, or related field with a strong quantitative foundation.
Experience in:
– Data Analysis and AI tools and programming: Proficiency in one or more of Python, R, Rust, SQL with the ability to learn others quickly.
– Data Visualisation: Creating impactful visualisations and graphical user interfaces using innovative AI techniques.
– Project management/Business Acumen: Manage a strategic project, mapping business and information processes, presenting insights in clear reports, and translating technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
This role is ideal for a person who thrives in a collaborative environment and is energised by learning new technologies. A passion for driving innovation through data-driven solutions is a must A genuine interest in financial services and technology is a plus.
