Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic midwife with skills in teaching to be part of our education team. S/he will work as part of the team to facilitate the development of required clinical skills by midwives to provide quality, evidence-based, woman-centred care in line with local guidelines and recommendations from national advisory bodies. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for supporting midwifery and Obstetric staff, within the practice environment, to be competent in cardiotocography monitoring. They will also assist in the development and implementation of programmes for new and extended roles and maintain excellent communication networks within the Trust and outside.

The post holder will work closely with the Lead Obstetrician for Fetal Monitoring to lead and facilitate a programme aimed at equipping clinicians to increase and improve their knowledge and competence in cardiotocography and assessing fetal well- being, identifying potential fetal compromise and actual fetal compromise in all clinical settings and improve clinical decision making.

The post holder will be an expert in the assessment, planning and implementation of all areas of midwifery care for women throughout the childbirth continuum. They will work closely with other health professionals aligned to midwifery to ensure continuity of care. Registered Midwife Mentorship Module or Equivalent. First Degree or evidence of working towards. Expert midwifery knowledge.

Desirable

Experience

Essential

Experience of collaborating with a multi-professional team. Evidence of clinical and professional expertise, underpinned by knowledge acquired through CPD Experience in changing clinical practice.
