Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Officer to join our Fundraising Team. The role involves supporting the team's initiatives across trusts and foundations, major donors, and individual giving. You will work closely with our Senior Fundraising Manager and other team members to manage and develop fundraising strategies that align with our organization's goals.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Fundraising Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the delivery of individual giving appeals, including the Big Give campaign.
  • Managing Gift Aid for all donors and ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
  • Monitoring the fundraising team inbox, processing online and postal donations, and ensuring a high level of donor care.
  • Conducting prospect research for trusts, foundations, statutory funders, and major donors.
  • Acting as the Relationship Manager for a small pipeline of trusts and foundations.
  • Assisting in the planning, administration, and delivery of fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Supporting the Senior Fundraising Manager with regular reporting and updates to staff and funders.
  • Working with the Finance team to track donation payments and process invoices.
  • Assisting with the management of donation platforms.
  • Supporting the Communications team in the online planning, administration, and analysis of individual giving programs.
  • Providing additional administrative support as required.
Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for this role should have:
  • Experience in relationship management within a fundraising team, preferably in philanthropy or individual giving.
  • Experience in donor care or customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate and persuasive writing.
  • Experience in general administration, ideally within a fundraising team.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, processes, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in setting up, managing, and reporting on grants.
  • Experience in events organization and administration.
  • Understanding of the role of the investment system in driving positive change in corporate behavior.
